泉北ニュータウンは2017年にまちびらき50周年を迎えました。
ベビーブーム期に画一的に作られた街で、少子高齢化が進む現代を生きるとはどういうことか。
かつて「新しい街」に夢を抱き、他府県から一斉に移り住んだ人々は、必要に迫られてコミュニティを形成しました。その土壌が今も残っていることがうかがえます。サードプレイスでお互いの暮らしを豊かにしています
この街の人々には、どこか心のゆとりがあります。
都市部のような利便性はないかもしれませんが、自然と共に生きる意識も高く、自分らしく居るバランスを知っています。Senboku New Town celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017. It’s a town that was uniformly developed during the baby boom, and its story offers insights into what it means to live in an era of declining birthrates and an aging society.
The people who once moved here en masse from other prefectures, drawn by the dream of a “new town,” were compelled by necessity to form communities. It’s evident that this foundational spirit still endures today, as they enrich each other’s lives through various third places.
There’s a certain peace of mind that seems to characterize the residents of this town. While it may not offer the same level of convenience as urban centers, there’s a strong awareness of living in harmony with nature, and they understand how to strike a balance that allows them to be themselves.
